3/6 Splenic Projector

Hello, my Googling friend 🙂 Is it safe to assume you’re trying to work out what these strange Human Design terms mean?

I get it. I was in your shoes about ten years ago when I first got my HD chart and wondered what it was all about. In this post, I’m going to walk you through them one at a time.

I’ll use everyday language so that you can start to incorporate the wisdom of Human Design into your own life. After all, that’s the entire point of this system - using it to make your life work better.

If that sounds good, then let’s do this!

First: Let's look at the numbers (aka your Profile)

The number on your Human Design chart that looks like a fraction is what we call your Profile. If you think of your life as a movie then your Profile is like the character that you play. It tells us some important things about your innate personality.

It shows us how you naturally interact with other people and with life. At least, it shows us one layer of info about these things as other parts of your Human Design chart have more layers that also affect your personality.

Your Profile is made up of two numbers between 1-6 with (strangely) only 12 possible Profiles globally. The Profile we’re looking at in this post is the one in the blog post title. If that’s your Profile then let's look at that now!

The 3/6 Profile, also known as the "Martyr/Role Model" goes through three very distinct life stages and the sooner you know this, the better you can navigate each one.

From birth until your Saturn Return (around age 29) you are really in the thick of life. During this time you are designed to have an incredible amount of experiences. Some of them will be good, some of them will be challenging. All of them are there to teach you something valuable you can use to help others in the future.

In the second stage, from 29 (ish) until your Kiron Return (around age 50) you withdraw from the chaos of life a little bit. This is your time to reflect on all the experiences you’ve had, to heal, integrate the lessons and gain a wider perspective.

During this stage, it’s essential that you recognise that none of these were “mistakes” or “failures” (despite what others, or even your own mind, might have to say on the matter). Rather, you simply worked out a lot of things that don’t work on your way to working out what does work.

In the third and final stage, at age 50 (ish) it is time to step back into the world again and lead by example as the role model you were born to become. This is when you get to share with other people the many, many important lessons you learned while navigating the ‘school of hard knocks’.

Your personal experience from your early years combined with the reflection and integration during your 30s and 40s (if done well) will allow you to see how your life experiences apply to just about everyone else.

This is how your hardships become valuable lessons for everyone who looks up to you. In this final stage, you are the example of what’s possible when we courageously experience and process all that life brings us.

If you want to ensure that you become that wise, authentic role model that you were born to be then during your early adult years (if you’re reading this before age 29) try to make peace with the tumultuousness of this time period and know that the intensity of it will end.

If you’re in your 30s or 40s, prioritise healing any pain you might still have associated with so-called “mistakes” or “failures” so that you can see the valuable lessons those experiences brought you. Keep healing and integrating until they no longer sting, until you no longer feel shame, and you can really truly feel at peace with everything you’ve been through.

If you already feel good about “failing forward fast” and “learning by doing” regardless of the mess it might create, then there’s nothing for you to do but keep doing you!

And if your life as a 3/6 ever feels too hard, dive into my suggestions above because they’ll help you make sense of the mess and ultimately make you better at teaching, leading, guiding, mentoring and/or inspiring others when the time comes. Because, after all, that’s what all the mess is for 😉

Second: Let's look at the first term (aka your Inner Authority)

The term Inner Authority acknowledges that you have your own innate authority within you. That is, you are designed to be the expert on your own life. It tells us how you’re designed to make your best (that is, most correct and aligned) decisions in your life.

While there are a few factors that influence how each individual person is designed to make decisions, one of the most important ones is the info contained in your Inner Authority.

The one or two words right after the Profile numbers (as shown in this blog post title) is the Inner Authority. If this is yours then let me explain what that means, in a simple way, right now.

Splenic Inner Authority isn’t that common but we have a lot of language to describe this decision-making process. This is a kind of spontaneous, intuitive knowing.

If this is your Inner Authority you literally have to ignore the mind, ignore people who tell you to “sleep on it” and ignore any suggestion that you need to justify your decision with a logical reason. That’s not how you make your best decisions.

Your deep gut knowing, on the spot, in the very moment the opportunity arises that’s when you’ll know.

As long as you’re paying attention, that is.

Third: Let's look at the last term (aka your Type)

The last part of this series of words we use to describe you in Human Design is your Type. Broadly speaking there are five Types.

(Although some HD teachers prefer to teach four Types many of us have found that splitting the population into five broad groups is more helpful. If you’ve seen this difference between teachers, or you do in the future, please know whether it's four or five, it’s not worth losing sleep over.

Type is an imperfect way of splitting 8 billion people into different groups. While the exact right way to split us into different segments might be imperfect it's still incredibly helpful, hence why most HD teachers on the planet teach about the concept of Type. So, let's get back to the blog post as we re-focus on what’s truly helpful.)

Your Human Design Type refers to how your aura (or energy field, it’s the same thing) behaves or interacts with other people. Some people are here to start conversations, others are here to respond, and one group of people are here to do a bit of both. Some are here to take other people in deeply so they can understand them really well, while others are here to be a mirror for the people they meet.

No one Type is better than any other; they are all just a little or a lot different from the others and are all here to do different things in this life.

A Projector is here to do life entirely different to most people. If your Human Design chart says this is your Type then you naturally, without any effort see and feel and sense things that others miss.

You’re here to guide other people with the things that you know. It’s an incredibly deep and powerful gift but for you to know which people you are here to guide in this life you need a sign.

That sign will be some kind of invitation. The people you’re here to help with your insights and intuition and ideas will make it known to you that they really want your help. Not just anyone’s help but yours specifically.

Note: For you to stay healthy (or become healthy again) you’ll need to find a way to guide others that honours the immense value you bring to the table. Ideally, you’ll only guide those who truly value you and your ideal work will be one where you are paid very well for far less effort than a “normal” job demands.

And that's it! In one short blog post, you've now had a basic introduction to your Profile, Inner Authority and Type, and I even snuck in some info about your Human Design Strategy 😉
