Marketing Tips for Projectors (Part 2)

In the last article, I talked you through the ‘DO's’ of marketing as a Projector. I promised to come back with the ‘DON'Ts’, so here they are!

(If you want to see the video where I originally spoke to this, you'll find it here.)

...

The three biggest "don'ts" in marketing as a Projector are pretty darn simple. Though that doesn't mean they're easy!

I could say them for you in just 25 words or less, but most Projectors need to read and/or hear in-depth explanations for their highly conditioned minds so they can start... to consider... that maybe... there's some possible way... that they can do this.

For fun, here are the three "don'ts" in 25 words or less.

If you read these and can action them straight away, then go do that! But if you read them and they feel impossible, well, you're not alone. Ready?

Don't initiate. Don't respond. Don't offer anything without some kind of invitation or opening.

There we go. That was only 14 words. Job done, right?

Ah, yeah. I know. It's not that easy.

Simple? Heck yes. Easy? Hell no!

But these are the most important "don'ts" as a Projector in business, and if you could put them up on your office wall or as a sticky note on your computer and live by them, your business would operate with more alignment than you might have ever imagined was possible.

Let's flesh them out a little bit.

1. Don't initiate.

Initiating is a word that's used a lot in HD teachings. In lay-person business language, we'd probably just say "go make it happen". This IS the correct way of marketing a business for Manifestors, the 10% ish of the population whose aura rolls outward like a wave, who would get nowhere in business if they waited for invites.

But when Projectors initiate? Ugh. To be honest, it's ridiculous. We waste time, money, energy, attention and opportunities. It feels bad for us (because we get nowhere but bitter and burned out), and it feels bad for the person who we are trying to interact with (because they didn't ask for us to be all up in their space).

If you're anything like me, you might have to initiate a bunch of times in order to work out: 1. How ineffective it is, 2. How bad it feels, and 3. That it's a total waste of your precious time.

But if you can learn from my experience and save yourself the grief, please do. I've f*cked this up enough times for all of us.

2. Don't respond.

Responding to questions in forums, to online posts, to opportunities, to anything tangible that life brings you - that is a job for the Generators and their cousins, the Manifesting Generators. Their aura-body-nervous system is just waiting for something to respond to.

A person. A question. An opportunity. Something! Anything!

They can respond (with a 'yes' or a 'no' - led by their gut/Defined Sacral) because that is how they are (energetically) wired. That will lead them to their next right client, their next right speaking gig, their next right business venture. That is correct for them. If they sat around waiting for specific, personalised invites like us Projectors, they would miss out on so many opportunities that were correct for them.

Their process is different. They're here to work. They're here to respond to opportunities to work and to do the right kind of work for them - that's regenerative, restorative, and so much fun they'd do it for free.

You, my dear, are not here to work. You don't want to 'respond' to opportunities to 'work'. You're not built to 'work' in the same way that our Sacral friends are. That's not for you. So if you respond to anything that was not an actual invitation, then you're saying 'yes' to 'doing work'. Stop it. Please. For everyone's sake, including yours.

3. Don't offer anything without some kind of invitation or opening.

In reality, this is just another way to say the same thing I said in (1) and (2). But over the last 12+ years of working with Human Design, I have come to see that we Projectors have been so heavily conditioned that most people need to hear the same thing multiple times in multiple different ways.

Just like offering guidance, advice or intuitive knowing about another person without an invitation gets you nowhere (except maybe in a fight, excluded from a group, or having your ideas stolen), offering your products or services without an invite or energetic opening of some kind will get you nowhere.

Now, if you haven't read Part 1 of this article where I talk about offering your 'thing' in a space that's managed/controlled by someone vs. a more open platform, then please read that next because there are layers of nuance in all this work.

But in short, if you offer your product/service/thing that people can buy when they/someone relevant hasn't expressly invited you to do so, then it's not going to get even close to the result you were hoping for in your marketing efforts.

You are wired to go deep with people.

Your aura penetrates the heart and soul of each person you meet.

And not everyone wants that level of intimacy with you.

This is not a problem. You're not supposed to have deep and meaningful conversations/interactions with every person on the planet - only with the particular handful of people you're here to guide.

And the ONLY way you know who they are is when they pick you.

If you're not sure what a true invitation looks, feels or sounds like, then this video will probably help.
