Projector: Do you have this belief?
There is one really common fear that I hear from the mouths of Projectors all the time. Whether they are my clients, my friends or simply acquaintances in the community--and for the record, this was so true for me as well, back in the beginning of my Human Design journey--and that fear is this:
"If I don't do it, nothing will happen."
There are many versions of this (and maybe you've caught yourself thinking or saying one of these yourself):
"If I don't go and do the thing, nothing will happen."
"If I don't initiate, nothing will happen."
"If I don't go and start it, nothing will happen."
"If I don't go and make it happen, nothing will happen."
“If I don’t do it, no-one else will (and therefore nothing will happen).”
While these beliefs are all slightly different (because our subconscious and unconscious beliefs are tied up in language), the energy of them is exactly the same: it’s based in fear.
These conditioned, fear-based beliefs are downright damaging for you as a Projector if you hold any amount of this in your system.
(How do you know if you do? If, as you read each of those versions above, they caused you to feel annoyed, uncomfortable, exasperated, overwhelmed or even numb, then that tells you that these sentiments feel true for you).
If you're feeling anything other than deeply present or truly curious as you read this, then this article contains some gold for you. (And present, curious ones can follow along as you'll likely know another Projector who needs to read this!)
Your conditioned beliefs (and not just yours, but mine too and everyone's on the planet) are 100% going to be holding you back if they are not in alignment with your Design.
Why? Well, as long as you hold the belief within your body/mind/nervous system that "if you don't do it, nothing will happen", then you're never going to feel safe or even mildly okay with waiting for things to come in.
And then they can't come into your reality because you don't feel safe for that to happen for you.
It is very common for Projectors around the world to hold a belief that says, "Waiting for the invite won't work."
(Can you see how this is tied to the beliefs I mentioned above? If waiting won't work, then you have to go make the thing happen, right?)
But this is a false belief.
It completely contradicts how your energy field (aura) is working on a day-by-day, hour-by-hour, moment-by-moment basis. However, since most of us can't see auras, and many of us live in an "I'll believe it when I see it" culture, it's understandable why, at some point, you were taught (as I was) to do something that is absolutely totally in contradiction to how you're wired.
See, here's the thing about beliefs:
We pick them up very, very early on when we're very young, and our brain is like a big sponge. We pick up this information from our parents, caregivers and the other adults that seem like Gods to us. Because they're so much bigger than us, and our very safety relies on them, their words and their energy influence us soooo much.
This means our whole system gets wired with this stuff that we had no option to pick through, choose or censor what might actually be good for us!
So you may well have this belief (and any number of other unhelpful beliefs) inside of you that are directly in the way of you living out the power and beauty of your innate, inbuilt, incredible Human Design. And if you do, you are not alone.
12+ years ago, when I began my Human Design experiment, I absolutely held the belief: "Waiting for the invite won't work, and therefore if I don't make it happen, nothing will happen."
I so strongly believed that I had to hustle; I had to go initiate; I had to respond; I had to go do the thing! I can even feel the anxiety in my physiology as I remember that energy and that way of being.
But here's the thing:
If you were indoctrinated into some version of that set of beliefs (that carry the energy of fear), then, since our beliefs are creating our results, you then get all this evidence that reinforces the belief/s and it becomes a vicious cycle.
Now, beliefs can work really well for us, in more of what I'd call a virtuous cycle, but only if our beliefs are in alignment with our Design!
But when you have subconscious or unconscious beliefs that contradict what is in your Human Design, then they will be fighting with one another. And this will hinder your ability to move forward and to create the kind of life that you want.
So if you want your life to work really beautifully, then what you'll need to do is this:
1. Become aware of your energetic (Human) Design - which you're doing by reading this article, and
2. Become aware of what you believe. Don’t make it right or wrong, just notice - "Oh, look! I believe x, and that's not a match for my design!" Then use a deconditioning process to release the beliefs that are not serving you.
You get to choose how you want to do that deconditioning. I do it (personally and professionally) through Trauma-Informed Tapping - a set of principles for healing I created after almost a decade of tapping with experts around the world. This is what I teach clients who want an effective deconditioning tool. (If you want to do this kind of work with me, you'll find my upcoming session availability here).
And there are any number of ways that you can release stuff from the system that is not serving you if, for any reason, tapping isn't your thing. The aim is to make space for something that does serve you to naturally come in.
Because if you don't, you could spend the whole rest of your life thinking you need to go make things happen, and get nowhere.
Your time is precious. Your gifts are precious. Your one life, in this one body, with this one story that is you, is precious.
Please give yourself (and all the rest of us) the gift of finding and releasing the most troublesome beliefs that are preventing you from living your design. If you feel like I can help, discover the services I offer below. Or find a deconditioning tool that you love and use it, a little bit every day.
Because your (best) life depends on it.

While AI is useful for many things, it's still not very good at explaining the depth and nuance of Human Design. Instead, human beings who have been learning about and experimenting with the Human Design system for 10+ years are much better teachers of this content.
